Search Open for Full-Time Faculty Positions in Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, invites qualified candidates to apply for tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level, with a target start date of August 2025 or later.

Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in one or several areas of strength of the Department, including advanced manufacturing, applied mechanics, biomedical devices & systems, computational science, design & optimization, dynamics & control, electronics reliability & sustainability, energy generation & storage, energy for the built environment, fluid mechanics & hydrodynamics, heat transfer & thermal systems, microsystems, nanoscale science & quantum systems, risk & reliability, robotics, smart materials & structures.

Qualifications: Candidates should have received or expect to receive their PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related discipline prior to employment. Candidates should have a high potential for significant scholarship and impact through both research and teaching, including through multi-disciplinary research collaboration.
