Kaushik Chatterjee, ME PhD Candidate
Kaushik has developed a novel probabilistic mechanistic-based approach for determining the frequency of steam generator tube rupture failures. The developed approach when combined with probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) techniques can provide an effective tool for the evaluation of safety and reliability of steam generators, particularly new steam generator designs used in advanced reactors which lack operational experiences and experimental data. Kaushik is advised by Professor of Mechanical Engineering Mohammad Modarres.
The ANS is an international, scientific and educational organization, the core purpose of which is to promote the awareness and understanding of the application of nuclear science and technology. The ANS publishes three technical journals: Nuclear Science and Engineering, Nuclear Technology, and Fusion Science and Technology.
